Report at Steyning

Building on their draw last Saturday, Croydon secured their first win since 22nd September as they returned from Steyning with a much needed 3 points.

Only two enforced changes for Caretaker Manager Danny Young as put faith in his squad and that faith was rewarded with two goals in the first half. Both came from new signing Jadan Raymond. The first was a shot drilled into the bottom corner and just three minutes later he finished at close range after a low cross from Eddie Dsane. It was no more than Croydon deserved as they dominated the opening half and looked more like the team we knew from the opening part of the season.

No game is easy and Steyning have put together some good results. They made some changes in the second half and they took advantage with two goals each from one of their substitutes. It felt like a bitter blow but Croydon knuckled down and didn’t let their heads drop. Ten minutes later Josh Williams didn’t give up and chased down a through ball. He cut inside and as soon as he found space he fired a shot back across the goalkeeper and into the net to round off a good performance that they will want to build on that when they travel to bottom of the table Eastbourne Town on Saturday.
