A CLUB STATEMENT

Yesterday’s announcement marks a pivotal moment for the future of AFC Croydon Athletic.

We welcome the new wave of interest in our club. A twitter following that took us 12 years to build has more than doubled in less than 24 hours. We take this moment to shine a light on the club’s history to date.We are proud of the fact that since our inception in 2012, we have been a club run entirely by volunteers. Each year that has gone by has seen us expand and diversify in tandem. We have made meaningful inroads into the Croydon community with over 200 boys and girls playing junior football every week at The Mayfield Stadium. We celebrate the diversity of our teams which reflect the makeup of the local community.We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all those whose loyalty and support has built the very foundations of our club. To those who have purchased a raffle ticket, forked the pitch, painted the changing rooms and provided half time hospitality – we continue to be immensely grateful to you. Our very existence has relied on the tireless efforts of our volunteers, members, fans and Directors – we will continue to rely on that same goodwill going forward. We pay tribute to those who have sadly passed away – their legacy lives on.We now have a unique opportunity to take the club to the next level. Our ethos and ambitions fully align with those who represent the consortium. It is vitally important to us all that we continue to serve the local community together.We look forward to welcoming new faces to The Mayfield Stadium in the near future. Enjoy this new chapter.
